Well known that conection with modern web-sites and services should be protected by SSL-encryption. Modern browsers is prefer secured HTTPS protocol against plain HTTP. All is needed to convert regular HTTP site to HTTPS one is SSL certificates.

Main purpose of this service is SSL\TLS certificates issue for sites and services.

This service based on open-source technologies. Everyone can create service with same functionality.

Debian/Ubuntu install

  1. Become root

    sudo -i

  2. Install application

    apt install ca-certificates

  3. Download certificates

    wget --no-check-certificate http://ca.umvirt.com/get_ca_cert.php -O /usr/share/ca-certificates/umvirt/root.umvirt.com.crt

    wget --no-check-certificate http://ca.umvirt.com/get_intermediate_cert.php -O /usr/share/ca-certificates/umvirt/intermediate.umvirt.com.crt

  4. Select & activate certificates

    dpkg-reconfigure ca-certificates

Red Hat/CentOS install

  1. Become root

    su

  2. Install application

    yum install -y ca-certificates

  3. Download certificates

    wget --no-check-certificate http://ca.umvirt.com/get_ca_cert.php -O /usr/share/pki/ca-trust-source/anchors/root.umvirt.com.crt

    wget --no-check-certificate http://ca.umvirt.com/get_intermediate_cert.php -O /usr/share/pki/ca-trust-source/anchors/intermediate.umvirt.com.crt

  4. Activate certificates

    update-ca-trust force-enable

    update-ca-trust extract

Certificate revocation lists (CRL)

Certificates like records in blockchain can't be deleted they are marked as revoked in revocation lists.

Production

We issue two types of certificates:

  1. Regular Certificate - Protects only one domain. For example, regular certificate applied to shop.example.com domain can protect only shop.example.com domain.
  2. SAN Certificate - Protects defined list of domains. For example, SAN certificate applied to example.com domain can protect two domains: www.example.com and example.com.
  3. Wildcard Certificate - Protects domain and all it subdomains. For example, wildcard certificate applied to example.com domain can protect example.com domain and all subdomains like www.example.com, shop.example.com, mail.example.com and so on.

You can order SSL certificate on shop.umvirt.com.

Warning: You must have access to your domain DNS-zone to add some records in order to prove domain ownership.
